Yes, Sipahh is suitable for Vegetarians. There are no animal or animal bi- products in Sipahh.
Sipahh contains no animal products, they are certified halal.
There is no Aspartame in our straws, however we do add a small amount of sucralose to each straw.
The philosophy of the Sipahh brand is to get kids to enjoy more milk and less sugar every day. To ensure that kids are enjoying the recipe, a certain level of sweetness is required. We have reduced the amount of sugar in the straws as we believe this promotes a healthy diet for kids, however, this is at the expense of the overall sweetness of the recipe. To ensure that kids are still enjoying the recipe, an artificial sweetener is employed to make up the additional sweetness.
This artificial sweetener, is Sucralose, which has been approved for use by the World Health Organization, the FDA, FSANZ and a number of other international food safety regulatory bodies. It is non-caloric, which means that it is not metabolised by the human body and it is around 600 times sweeter than sugar, which means that only small amounts are required (between 0.2 and 0.5 % in Sipahh straws) to achieve the desired level of sweetness.
We are always on the lookout for a better natural alternative for Sucralose and we are currently investigating monk fruit. We will keep you updated on our progress!
No, Sipahh doesn’t contain any artificial colours or flavours. The three digit codes in the ingredient list are international codes for food additives. A common misconception among the general public is that all those numbered additives are artificial. That is not so. Some additives are natural others are artificial.
In our case the e.g banana colour is Turmeric, which is also used as a spice in cooking, the Caramel colour is Caramel and Turmeric.
No, Sipahh doesn’t contain preservatives. Sipahh does have a special wrapping film though, that was specifically designed to help the straws stay fresh.
Sipahh is Green Light in all states and territories as long as it is served with reduced fat milk (except SA). The reason we are not classified as green in SA is because there is a small amount of artificial sweetener in our straws.
Sipahh contains a very small amount of carbohydrate per serving and on its own does not fit into the category of carbohydrate foods for GI testing in Australia.
Children can start enjoying Sipahh as soon as they are able to drink from a straw and consume cow’s milk or alternative beverages such as a soy drink, rice or goat’s milk. Straw drinking is a learned skill and it is difficult to set an average age of proficiency. Most children should be able to drink from a Sipahh straw from 12-18 months of age, however they may not be able to consume the full recommended serving size of 250-300ml of milk in one sitting. It is advisable to supervise young children when they are consuming any type of food or drink.
Sipahh packaging has three components. These are:
- Cardboard box
- Wrapping Film
- Compostable Polymer Straw
The straw is made from compostable polymer. The polymer is Poly-Lactic-Acid (PLA). PLA is manufactured from corn or sugar. The filter holding the tapioca beads into the straw is manufactured from a different compostable polymer called Poly-Butylene-Succinate (PBS). PBS is manufactured from corn or sugar. The straws and filters contain no fossil fuels and have no net impact on atmospheric carbon. The cardboard box is recyclable along with paper etc, the wrapping film is a scrunchable thin film and is recyclable with scrunchable plastics.
No, all Sipahh straws are compostable and although they are recyclable, the facilities do not exist in Australia. Rather than recycling they are composted in a commercial or industrial composting facility where they are eaten by microbes and are reduced to carbon dioxide and water.
Yes. All of our straws and filters are BPA free.
BPA is a plasticiser used mainly in polycarbonates and rubbers.
Our straws are made from plant sourced and compostable Poly-Lactic-Acid with no additives other than the plant sourced polymer. It is fully approved for direct food contact.

Sipahh orders are assigned a Tracking number so all deliveries can be tracked online. Sipahh deliveries require a signature (and the receiving persons name) as Proof of Delivery . Proof of Delivery is guarantee that the Delivery had been made in full in good condition.
Sipahh does not recommend leaving deliveries unattended at the delivery address for risk of loss or theft or damage. However, a customer may request that a delivery is ‘safe to leave at premises if unattended’. (“Authority to Leave” (ATL), in which case they will be left at your door without the need for a signature.) In this case the customer accepts all responsibility for a lost or stolen or damaged Delivery once the courier company records the item as “delivered.”
If your order is not marked with ATL and nobody is available to sign for the delivery, it will be redirected to your local post office.

Once we have verified the damage, we will send you some replacement stock free of charge and you can dispose of the damaged goods.
